YEAR END REVIEW OF THE ARTS This has been an amazing year for Autistic Services and for our Arts Work Program. What began as a wandering exhibit of “outsider” art has grown into a tour of accepted, maybe even anticipated, artists. In 2008, our band of painters and performers made the rounds to nearly a dozen locations, including our signature annual landing stop at Babeville. Here are all the places we have made appearances so far this year:

OPTS Programs Approved In December, 2006, Autistic Services, Inc. was granted funding to enhance the Day Habilitation Program offered at the agency. We now have secured funding to continue providing the art, music and movement programs started at the agency in 2003. Additionally, the contract allows for an evening program two times a month which provides habilitative training through art and music exercises. In June of 2007, we were granted funding to provide job coaching services to individuals with autism who do not qualify for Supported Employment. The contract provides ongoing coaches to assist individuals transport to work, facilitate communication and socialization skills in paid employment positions in the community.
