DAN C -- "C is for Celebrity"

Dan C. has been one of our more popular artists and if you take a look at his work you'll quickly see why. His style could easily fall into place with the eclectic grunge that is common in underground punk. Dan's work is strongly influenced by late 70's and early 80's television shows. He has completed a series of large-scale works that are based on the characters from the classic TV show Barney Miller.

Dan writes cryptic messages around the canvas where he uses character names as pseudonyms for things he has been conditioned not do do over the years. For example, "Hal Linden is Going to Pull Your Hair." or "Jack Soo is going to Punch You in the Face." Dan also uses these names to express things that he enjoys doing like "Abe Vigoda Looks in the Reflection" and "Abe Vigoda Looks at his CD." Dan enjoys looking at his own reflection and can be seen carrying a compact disc around with him in order to do so.

After a one month exhibition at Brodo on Elmwood Ave, the owner of the restaurant asked that the exhibition be extended at their other location in Snyder, New York – where it still hangs today. This is Dan's first solo exhibition and it can currently be seen at Brodo's 4548 Main St. location in Snyder, NY.

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"

What does that word mean? It means that in 2009, Autistic Services and its band of Auteurs and Actors with Autism have all agreed that it’s fine time that Mary Poppins made a pop appearance in Western New York – specifically at Depew High School. If you thought the movie was eclectic, then wait till our animated actors bring Mary Poppins to the stage. The tentative date is scheduled for June 19th at 7:00pm. More information to come…
