Bringing the Story of Autism to Western New York.
A group of men and women, dressed in blue jean shirts, performed African-inspired music live at the Galleria. Months later, they put down their drums, and put on masks to re-enact the Lion King for a live audience at Depew High School. This same group collaborated in a group exhibition at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Each person in this group is somewhere on the Autism Spectrum. This is the story of dozens of men and women who see the world in a way the rest of us have yet to understand. They have taken their sensory view of the world and turned it into a story told through art, music and movement. This is the other side of Autism. This is the story of 2,000 men and women in the Greater Western New York area. |
